Privacy Policy — CiaoSchool Apps

This policy describes how mobile applications published by CiaoSchool handle user data. It applies to all CiaoSchool apps available on the Google Play Store and, if applicable, other stores, unless specifically indicated otherwise in the store listing of an individual app.

2. General Principle: Our Apps Work OfflineCiaoSchool apps are designed to function without requiring an account and without an internet connection for their core features. Settings and content you create (e.g., your timer preferences, text you write, documents you save) remain exclusively on your device within a private app storage area and are never transmitted to CiaoSchool or third-party servers.
3. Data We Do NOT CollectBy default, CiaoSchool apps do not:- Require account creation or the input of personal data;- Collect advertising IDs, location data, contacts, photos, or other sensitive device data;- Use third-party analytics tools, behavioral tracking, or advertising SDKs;- Share, sell, or transmit any data to third parties;- Display ads.

Data Saved Locally on the DeviceApps may store information locally using standard operating system storage mechanisms (e.g., SharedPreferences on Android), including:- Your configuration preferences (e.g., timer duration, color theme, selected language);- Content you create directly within the app (e.g., notes, documents, progress).
This data stays on the device, is accessible only by the app itself, and is automatically deleted when the app is uninstalled or manually cleared via your operating system settings.
5. Device PermissionsOur apps request only the minimum permissions necessary for their operation. Certain apps may request internet access solely to open external links selected by the user (for example, the "Powered by CiaoSchool" link to our website), without any automated data transmission.
6. Exceptions: Apps or Features with Internet ConnectivityIf an app in the CiaoSchool family introduces features in the future that require transmitting data to external servers (such as online synchronization), this privacy policy will be updated accordingly prior to the release of that feature. The update will clearly specify what data is processed, for what purpose, and how long it is retained. The store listing (Data Safety on Google Play) for that specific app will always reflect the most up-to-date status.
7. MinorsCiaoSchool apps are also intended for a school-age audience, which may include minors. Because we do not collect personal data or require accounts, we do not knowingly process personally identifiable data of minors. Parents or guardians with questions about a minor's use of the app can contact us at the address provided in Section 1.
8. SecuritySince data remains on the user's device and is not transmitted to our servers, the security of that data depends on the security measures of the device itself (screen lock, operating system encryption, etc.), which we recommend keeping active.
9. Your RightsBecause we do not store personal data on our servers, most rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR — Regulation EU 2016/679) are exercised directly on your device:- Access and Deletion: You can view and delete the data stored by the app at any time through the app's settings or by uninstalling the app;- Portability: For apps that support it, created content (e.g., documents) can be exported directly from the app;- Specific Inquiries: You can write to us at the contact details provided in Section 1.
10. Changes to This Privacy PolicyWe may update this policy periodically to reflect new features or apps added to the CiaoSchool family. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent version. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
