This policy describes how CiaoSchool processes the personal data collected through this website.

Data controller

The data controller is CiaoSchool, reachable at gestioneskuola@gmail.com.

This space is created and managed by CiaoSchool, a user of the CiaoSchool platform. Contact email: gestioneskuola@gmail.com.

Data collected

For teachers who sign up: name, email address, username and password (stored in encrypted form), optional address and social link, newsletter subscription if chosen, and the content the teacher creates (classes, announcements, links to their own files, games, quizzes, flashcards, whiteboards, documents). Files are not hosted: they are linked through services chosen by the teacher (for example Google Drive). No student data is collected (see below). Teachers can also add personal appointments and notes to the Calendar, set their time zone and, if they join a “School” group, provide their name and phone number: appointments with a school place are visible to the other teachers in the group (notes stay private). If a teacher connects their Google Drive, CiaoSchool keeps the access token needed to save PDFs of documents and announcements in a “CiaoSchool” folder on their Drive; the connection can be disconnected at any time from the settings.

Students' data

CiaoSchool does not collect or keep any student data. Students do not create accounts and do not enter a name, email or any other personal data: quizzes and matching exercises are anonymous, are graded on the spot, and the result is shown only to the person taking them, without being saved. Surveys only keep anonymous counts for each option, never individual answers. Flashcard progress stays in the student's browser and is neither sent nor stored on the server. The shared whiteboard shows what its users draw or write, under the responsibility of the teacher who creates it: it must not be used to write personal data. As with any website, the IP address and technical browsing data may appear for a limited time in the hosting server's technical logs. One exception: if the teacher turns on feedback on an announcement or lesson, students can optionally leave an emoji and a written tip. Only these are saved, anonymously, with a random identifier stored in a cookie on their device: never a name, email or other personal data. Tips must not contain personal data.

If a teacher puts a link to YouTube, Vimeo or Wordwall in an announcement, the content appears below the announcement but only loads when the student starts it: until then no data is sent to those services. Once started, the external service handles data under its own policy (YouTube is used through its no-cookie domain).

Purpose of processing

Teachers' data is used to create and manage their space and to send service emails (signup confirmation, password recovery). The email address is used for the newsletter only if the subscription was kept, and it can be cancelled at any time.

Legal basis

Processing is based on performing the service requested by the teacher and, for the newsletter, on the choice made at signup, which can be withdrawn at any time.

Data retention

The teacher's data is kept while their space is active and can be deleted on request, together with all their content. Nothing is kept about students. The exception is the optional anonymous feedback described above, which the teacher can delete.

Data subject rights

At any time you can request access to, correction, deletion or restriction of the processing of your data, as well as object to processing or request data portability, by writing to gestioneskuola@gmail.com.

Content published by teachers

CiaoSchool provides teachers with a space to independently publish their own educational content (lessons, materials, exercises and tools). Such content is created and published under the sole responsibility of the individual teacher: CiaoSchool exercises no editorial control over it and accepts no responsibility for its accuracy, legality, or for any infringement of third-party rights.

Service continuity and backups

The service is provided "as is", without any guarantee of continuity, uninterrupted availability or freedom from errors. We recommend regularly exporting and keeping a copy of the materials you create on your own device, using the export/download features available within each tool, rather than relying solely on their storage on this site.

Cookies

This site only uses technical cookies, necessary for it to function (for example to keep the admin login session). No profiling or third-party advertising cookies are used.
